In BC Times, Before Children Times, we celebrated Christmas very differently than we do now that we have a child. From the beginning of our marriage, I knew I wanted to take turns for Thanksgiving and Christmas between our two families. We couldn't possibly spend it with both each year. I have a family, okay it's really my parents, that would easily expect us to spend each holiday with them. Not fair for my husband. So we take turns. I can only imagine what might happen if we deviated from the schedule. This has been a huge life saver for us. It also helps us skip some less than desirable holiday meals. Everyone has to have that certain someone in their family that's not as kitchen friendly. Unfortunately, in our family, this person doesn't know that her gift is not in the kitchen.
